It all started 22 years ago after my family decided to move to the UK, times were tough and money was tight. While my parents worked relentlessly to provide me and my siblings with a better future, I often found myself cooking family dinners as my parents were already overwhelmed. Conjuring dinners out of random ingredients in the fridge soon became second nature to me and nothing went to waste.
That's until I went to University... While cooking for 5 people was second nature to me, cooking for 1 was far more challenging especially after I decided to become a vegetarian. Living on a tight budget I'd find myself living off the clearance section conjuring crazy meals on the fly with a very loose meal schedule. I was always super busy and more often than I'd like to admit I'd be throwing away food and all those savings just started becoming losses because I hadn't used the things I bought in time. I thought to myself if only there was an app for this...
Living with different people every year was amazing, I learned so many different recipes and styles of cooking, but I had no way of storing those hidden gems, food was about survival and meeting my nutritional needs, which was a headache, to say the least! Which is when I came up with PanDalicious!
I've always been passionate about programming and my dream has always been to work on something meaningful to help humanity as a whole. So after moving back home, I took it upon myself to develop this app to make my life easier as well as everybody else's!
Where I am today
Nine years ago PanDalicious was just an idea, a dream... today I have a working prototype and before the end of 2024, I hope to turn this dream into a reality and release the app to the public! There's still plenty to do and I'm constantly incorporating new technologies I've never used before so bear with me! I love a challenge but this is a massive project and as a single developer working on all of its aspects alongside the business side of things it's taking a little longer than I initially imagined...
